Thank you, Wherever and whoever you are!

There exists exactly eight times I have been caught bereft of speech
Half of them while I slept, two in lust, one intoxicated
And one started here among friends, never met, never spoken
Never seen, but deeply felt
Know that I appreciate it all for I almost fell beyond your reach

You who do not know me, should run post-haste and in alarm
Or you may find yourself lauded, albeit cleverly
Under the guise of spoken word, wit and charm

For those already caught in my web, I mourn deeply for your passing
Only divine intervention or perhaps enough dry food ‘sans wine’ can save you from
Relentless prose, my ego and endless prattling

Endearing though I try to be
Vivacious past all hope
Effervescent cascades of no paltry thanks
Rend spell-check to violent throes
Yet that is not what I seek to impart
Tasking vocabulary to the extreme
Hinting of a greater plot
In blatantly subtle or obviously cunning means
Nay, I speaketh in the words of old!
Grandiose genuflection for chivalrous acts, selfless giving and courage bold!

You who’ve gifted me with words, advice, critique and more, can you see?
On this day, I am filled with vicarious aplomb
Unabated hope, renewed vigor, purpose and lacking rhyming synonyms: glee

Abandon strife, all ye who enter here, find solace in this thought,
Realize I posses the balance of but one letter to say ‘Thank You, Whoever you are!’ and
‘Ever you need for but the simplest friend, know that I am here’
