More than just lunch..
Friday Afternoon

The phone rang, startling him from the forms he was filling out.
He picked it up, “Hello?”
“Hey honey,” his wife said.
“Oh, hi, there something wrong hun?”
“No, I’d just really like it if you came home during lunch.”
“Hun, I’m really busy here.”
“I know, but could you please. It’s important.”
He sighed pausing for a moment.
“Oh, alright”

He placed his brief case by the door, as he closed it.
Then tossed his keys on to the small wooden table
by the door, and called to his wife.
“I’m up here,” she called back from upstairs.

He headed upstairs, and walked into the bedroom.
“What’s so important hun?”
She didn’t say anything, she just smiled,
and stood up.
She was wearing a white silk nighty.
It clung to her figure.

He paused for a moment, when he’d gotten a good look at her.
“Honey?”
“It’s been forever since we’ve done this.”
He nodded, closed the door, and walked towards her.

After they finished, and he was getting dressed,
she asked, “When are you going to get home tonight?”
“Not until late, I still have a lot of work to get done.”
“So real late?”
“Yeah, sorry.”
“Oh, don’t worry about me,” she said almost cheerfully.
“Umm, okay hun.”
He finished putting his clothes on,
and as he opened the door, she said,
“Goodbye, I love you.”
He glanced back at her,
“See you tonight.”
