I didn’t always have a lot of confidence in my writing, but always loved to write. I found Writing.com one night while surfing the web for credible sites to help improve my skills. What I found was more than I thought I would get. Since then my confidence has grown and even won a few ribbons/awards for my work. The other authors on the site are sincere, encouraging and most of all helpful in their reviews. Reviewing is one part of the community’s efforts to help expand the individual’s talents as well as their own. It’s a win-win home for writers of all genres and forms. If you love to write and interact, this is the place to be.
I joined WDC several months ago, and only in the last 4 weeks have I become an active participant in all that is going in here. I have been inspired, even rewarded for my own works. I have recieved numerous reviews and have learned from all of them, This site rocks. Keep up th egood work.
I've been writing for as long as I can recall. For a long time after I graduated, I had no one with whom I could share the excitement of my craft. With Writing.com, I have found more than this. I have found a community of people who are always supportive, friendly, and ready to show all the newbies the ropes. I have never felt so completely accepted for who I am. In the two weeks I've been a part of this amazing group of creative minds, I've already become fully involved in so many ways. I would recommend this website to anyone who shares a passion for this type of creative expression. You will LOVE it!
I once was a member of another site. It was a place much like WDC, and I enjoyed the site very much. One day I woke up, went to the computer and set out to log into my account and wouldn't you know it, the whole site had changed. I could no longer access the site so I was basically locked out. For the longest time I searched for another place to keep the creative juices flowing, read others work, and give reviews. Finally I found you! In a matter of days you have made life so much better for me. I need WDC, thank God you are here.
I could write for hours simply ABOUT writing.com, but that would vacate my time that I use to write stories!
I was bored, surfing through the internet as usual, looking for something good to read. That's how I stumbled on WDC.
Not only did WDC allow me to read wonderful stories and poems, have fun entering contests and making friends who share the same interests; WDC awoke a sleeping dream in me, to become a published writer one day.
I had discarded this dream, as a kid long ago. I thought it was "impossible".But now... WDC is my candle of HOPE burning bright, with every word I write.
Cheers to WDC!
At the last moment, I found something that I love to do: Write. I am not Margaret Mitchell (the author of Gone with the wind), but I’m working on it. I have looked at many writing websites. I always come home to Writing.com. The other authors not only rate, but actually write comments, necessary feedback from peers. Sometimes they spot that nasty typo that ruins your project. The appearance of Writing.com is that of a warm library, full of knowledge and hope for the future. This is a home for all types of authors to create and learn. Thank you Writing.com.
I discovered http://www.Writing.com some months ago; recently I tried the one month free membership offered to everyone, and I was impressed with the scope of the website: the writing helps, the poetry review subsystem, and the email account--and much, much more--in your membership package. Writing.com has several levels of membership, and I chose the "upgraded level", which is expanded and has many practical features, including unlimited email folders; also this level is very cost effective and is the most popular among casual, but serious, users of the website--give http://www.Writing.com a try, and I am sure you will be permanently impressed, and sign up as a member, as I did.
I adore WDC website. If I can't find a book to read and the shops closed, i can find a story to read on this wonderful site. WDC is a family of writers, we enjoy eachother's work, encourage and give our opinions of certain issues. Today I logged onto my WDC account and was suprised with an email reminding me that it was my account birthday and that I have only been a member for one year. Although it has only been one year I feel as though it's been a lifetime. Write On! Fellow authors.
The best part of WDC is the community that is WDC! No matter what your pleasure ~ WDC is the place for you. At any one time, you can write, read, rate, interact with other community members, and so much more. It's official~ I love WDC!
I have only been a member a short time but i've already found some friends and read some great stories.
What a great site for writers to get input on their work
I joined Writing.com when I really needed support. At the time, I was writing, and every one of my friends who was reading my work was telling me that it was good. While this was flattering - it was complete rubbish. What I needed was truthful feedback about my work. I also needed people around me who knew what it was like to have and suffer from writers block, and who know what its like to be a writer.
Having people around me like that - means that they can encourage you and motivate you back into writing, without not knowing what its like.
WDC is the best writing community I have come across. You get honest feedback and support. It has made a world of difference to me.
Thank you WDC.
When I joined WDC less than a month ago, I was searching. My life was hectic, things were changing and I needed something. I didn't know what it was until I found this site. I have always been a writer, but no one saw anything I created. I knew my family would be overly judgemental and my 'children' didn't need that kind of abuse. They needed a safe place to grow. They found that at WDC. I have been creating like crazy and I have hundreds of ideas just waiting to be born. I have joined groups, entered contests, and met hundreds of wonderful people. Thank you all! God bless, Kaya
I have always been an odd duck, the one looking in, but here is a place where I feel I finally belong. I have met so many people that I would never have met otherwise, and I'm completely addicted to this site. I love the reactions I get from my stories; it makes me feel like a valuable member of the human race, something I do not generally feel. I love WDC for changing my life so much for the better. Thank You so much, whoever it was that had this genius idea!
Instead of stumbling upon Writing.Com, I was searching for something along the lines of an online critique group and, though I don't remember where, this online community was strongly suggested. Here, I've discovered a second home, friendship, that critique group I was looking for (x 100), and much, much more. Being a teenager, finding a place where my writing is treated as a piece within itself (and not judged by my age), I feel as if I've finally been able to discover my own potential -- and then write, write, and write.
I have loved writing ever since reception, and over the past few years, my love for writing has evolved, and as soon as we were set the task of Original Writing in English, I decided I'd fallen in love. Then, my good friend laura introduced me to this website. She described it as the writers equivalant of Deviant Art. Well...it's so much better. For the very short time I've been on here, I've had so much inspiration, and everyone's been fantastic! I'd like to thank the whole site for making me so happy lately!
I love this site, I'm half way around the world on the beautiful island of Barbados and I can still talk to and get great reviews and responses from the wonderful people of Writing.Com
I feel at home here no matter where you're from, or who you are we are all connected through the written word.
Love you all.
The WOW factor on writing.com is through the roof. Here I can post my work for a wide range of folks to read and review. With the comments and reviews, I can improve my skills and better enhance my talents.
Another great feature is being able to read other authors works. By reading them and reviewing I can help them grow and also learn what from their talents.
The more I use writing.com, the more I want to use it. It has become a thoroughly addictive and intoxicating place for me to spend time and display my talents. So many avenues in one site, so little time to explore in one sitting.
Thank you for providing this.
I stumbled upon WDC by chance a few months ago and ever since I've been addicted to it. WDC is a unique blend of people who share a common goal-Writing- and I simply love being a part of this group. What I really like about WDC is that it has an exclusive system of rating and reviewing that encourages writers like myself to better ourselves. I am also amazed at the caring nature of members who give upgrades to others and offer them a unique opportunity to display their talent.
Lastly, hats off to the WDC management, who do a great job of maintaining WDC in a systematic manner.
A very heartfelt "Thank you" to everyone at WDC.
Writing.com is a very good website. After searching the internet for a long time, I came across this site and I'm glad I did. Finally, people besides my family members and my teachers will be able to read my stories. This site will most likely be visited everyday by me.
With overtime jobs that I have had, I left my dream of writing in the backburner for quite some time. Thanks to WDC, Ive been encouraged to go back to my long life dream and their staff is always eager and very gracious to help with any problem I have within how to use the functions. This is my second week now and I can't stop going back! Thanx WDC!
Writing.com is a very astounding website, with very friendly people. It is very easy to use, and there is no real need to pay for a huge membership, unless there is something specific that you need. Even with the basic or free memberships, you have access to pretty much the whole site. If you want though, you can pay for memberships with cool gift points, which are of course free to gain. You can use them for many things, and you can get them for just writing and reading. (which is the purpose of the site, right?) Writing.com is totally perfect and fun for every age, interest, and schedule! WRITING.COM TOTALLY ROCKS!
What can I say about writing.com that hasn't been said before. I can say any site that is this great and will except me as a member is number one in my book, no pun intended.
I found this site completely on accident...
I was looking for a place to post my poetry in order to get insight and feedback as I constructed a themed collection...
well find this site, I did! Writing.com is a community of writers that are interested in...well writing! Imagine that, an entire site and community dedicated to writing and reading--not bashing and teasing. This site is perfect for any writer who truly loves to read and write!
I have been to many sites to show off the writing skills that I am working on. This is the only site I found where other writers have so much interaction with each other. My style has developed and gotten better ^_^ I enjoy meeting new people that can give me tips to help me along the way. I always get compliments and when something doesn't sound right I know people will be honest with me. If something is wrong people will tell me but they do it in a nice way. I have never seen any site that all its members are so nice. On this site I have had no mean comments or any rudeness. I have made friends and even found out some of the poeple I know are great writers. I've watched my friends on here get published. I have never seen so much exposure to publishers on any other site!
