Quite enjoyable. I found the contrast of the new age philosophication of war to the simpler patriotic ideals of years past to be an interesting and thought provoking subject, especially when presented in so cordial a conversation. I'll certainly be interested to hear more.
I would like to begin by saying that I this short story to be quite well written. The sentence structure and use of vocabulary are excellent, as is the use of dialogue. It exhibits a sense of structured and refined storytelling which I do not often come across in forums of this type. That being said, I found the subject matter itself to be quite the opposite. The story as a whole comes across as overwrought and without a semblance of true meaning, all form and no function. The reader is thrust far too violently into this melodramatic demon world, and the resulting hodgepodge of imagery is simply overwhelming. Perhaps within the confines of a well-developed series this story could have a chance, but as a single short story, it simply doesn't work.
