I liked this. Very thought provoking. Almost as soon as I started to read, I was reminded of an experience I encountered a few years back. I'm not sure what it was that I experienced, but I have read similar accounts being called Astral Projection. Can I ask if that's what you were referring to, or was this more of just a dimensional slip occurring?
