This is a wonderful poem. I found it by accident. I was looking to see what kind of poetry would be found int the traditional group contest and found your stuff of abuse. I am a 31 yr. social worker. Have worked w/kids for all these years. Adopted/fostered many abused kids and adopted two. I was never abused, but I was adopted at age 5. I really love your work. I wrote a poem "Is Anybody Listening" about my adopted son who was abused. If you want to read it, it is in my portfolio. I want to come back to your portfolio and read more. I like the way you write. I also may enter the contest. I havn't done much on here lately. Too busy getting my website & ministry up and going. Thanx for sharing your work! vasquez savage
interesting story. makes me want to know how she handles this stranger. is the bonding easy or does she find it difficult to accept losing the bonding experience of birthing. i look forward to reading more. you left me wanting more. that is what it is meant to do. good job! vs
loved your poem. wouldn't change a thing. i like the message, the flow, & the simple, but well thought out imagary. reminded me just a little of one of my poems "The Sound of Grace". i had a similar thought pattern on what grace sounds like. i love the way you used the expanded view of listening. this poem reminded me of so many things. it was cool!
