This is a stunning event. I felt the shallowness of the disconnected therapist. I felt the disparity of your pain and his apathy. Thank you for writing this and sharing it.
A turning point was reached when the therapist revealed his own motivation. It would help me, a reader, to understand your pain and confusion and your realizations at this point if you detailed the setting and introduced the other people in the scene.
