Review of A SENIOR SUMMER  Open in new Window.

Countrymom,

This poem flowed well and told the story of summer haze and sweetpea days only to unfold to the bitter truth.Well done, I liked the way you described the beautiful tones of summer, as it fades and then the truth at the ending.
Thank you for sharing your lovely poem.

Hi Prodigal,

I read your poem and could feel a song in there.I think with a bit more sructure it could be one, that is if you wanted to write songs. But your poem reveals the struggle of love and why sometimes it doen't work.
Best,

Lotusneckos bd,

I liked this well thought out poem. People do take many things for granted and expect everything done for them, and forget what happens to the fellow on the street. And what happened to the Native Americans, and the dinasaurs and what has to be destroyed so they can have the face creams that cost enough to feed a soup kitchen. Well done.

Best,

Dear Innocent Angel,

I have never given anyone a 5.0 before, but this poem was to me beautiful. It brought a lump to my throat reading it, then going over again to put myself into the dying spirits footsteps.

Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with us.

Hi Milkman,

I've just read your poem "Thought Process.." and enjoyed it very much. I think we all have a fantasy about someone just out of our reach and you captured it very well in this poem.
I love the line "Eyes closed, what's she dreaming about,
these feelings, make me shout, above the clouds, above the rain, "Does she feel the same?"
Best,

Review of A SUMMER LOVE  Open in new Window.

I like this poem for its simplicity. How we meet someone and a romance blossoms. You want it to last, but alas, is
not to be.
So life goes on, and soon the memory of the love we found one hot summer fades into the distance. You've captured that very nicely. Well done.

Karsey, what can I say? This poem left me speechless. I felt the emotion, the pain and the scars.
You captured love at its worst and you came back for more out of love for this person.
This poem portrays how the heart gets tangled up so blindly that it can't see beyond tomorrow.
Very well written poem.

This is great example of a Sestina poem. I have to be honest and say I have never heard of this particular type of poetry. It is a very disciplned type of poetry and intriguing at the same time. I enjoyed reading this very much and as I said before, a great example!
