An unfinished conversation could change someone's life if finished. I like how you talk about it as a void. One that may never be filled. Your point of view makes me more aware, and I will try to avoid leaving a conversation unfinished.

My kitten bolted past me at night for the first time! Flew past me down the trailer steps, and I was afraid because it was so dark and he is a tuxedo, with a lot of black. I stayed outside, calling and shaking a treat bag. After about 1/2 hour I saw only his white paws prancing around in front of me, and he let me get him.

I can SO relate to the story, and I bet many other pet owners c as n too!

Let me get something out of the way: it is morning (not mourning) and deities (not deity's.)

I really enjoyed this. Some of the details like the power leaking and the caste system were very interesting.

I became invested in this story, and I want to know what happens next!

I have only good things to say about your writing!

I loved the names of the creatures, even the nickname Nosedive. Belfry also cracked me up!

I loved that the whole community showed up for storytime at moonrise.

I was very invested when Basil ran away, and actually gasped!

And, finally, I was very happy when Brlfry finally called him Basil.

Kudos!

This is an interesting take on body image problems. There are people who even go so far as to get surgery after surgery, and are still dissatisfied.

Starting with cutting the had off both cracked me up and made me sad because so many people hate their faces.

Very creative and thought-provoking!
