That was both powerful and suspenseful! It drew me in with such a powerful description of both the literal and figurative aspects of emotional pain and physical pain, both the reality of the emotional pain with the surreal aspects of drowning under an ice covered lake. It was nice that you didn't allow someone else to save you, but rather had to depend on yourself and the recognition of what needed to be done to move onward, upward, and outward. Very nice imagery. Thank you for sharing something so personal and heartfelt.
