This story is very entertaining. I really enjoyed the way you let some animal references slip into the conversation that was being read. The way you corrected them too allows the reader to believe that they are being talked to and not that they are reading.
Well done, I'd love to see more of your work.
I invite you to stop by and read some of mine - my newest Maryanne's Reflection might interest you.
Your basic message is clear as a bell - all too frequently we don't realize what is clearly right in front of us. Whether it is nature, people, or circumstances, too many of us only see the glass as half empty and the water spots on the top of the glass. Using the old phrase, 'stop and smell the roses' is more relevant today than it was when it first came out. Too many people go through the motions, your words give a voice to what we all think but are afraid to say. Thank you
After I read your words, I closed my eyes and heard and felt what you said. Your description was done in a way that can touch everyone. With a mom like you, I'm sure Brynn sees everything in full color.
