I am really enjoying the 'prompt' pieces. Reading them is like watching someone's mind unravel. This piece speaks to me of my experience reading other writers...be open, watch. learn and grow. I like the images 'fresh winds blow' and 'newer thoughts to sprout'. The poem feels light, and refreshing and leaves my mind with the desire to stay open. Thank you. Melinda
A heartfelt poem. I like how even amidst the pain, there is hope. The reminder to not feel forsaken is a powerful one during the time a loved one is sick. I also was struck by the strong sense of faith. The first stanza especially reminded me of my own experience with my mother. The incredible pain, wanting to shut down, but no time to break apart. I was left with 'All is well'. Thank you.
Thank you for these postings. I have written the words that popped into my head for years, never having any understanding of rhyme scheme, syllabic pattern, rhythm and meter. So whatever came out on the page, that was it. I had no idea how to improve upon it. Now I can look at my writings with tools to improve and refine. There is a whole world I have not yet tapped into. I appreciate the path you lay out. Melinda
Thank you for sharing your work. I was transported to that place and felt a part of your home and sad at the loss. Very powerful piece on change. Happy New Year, Melinda
What a beautiful gift to and for your daughter. Your love and gratitude reminds me to not take for granted the blessings in life and to see the miracles. Happy Holidays, Melinda
Thank you. Your poem brought a huge smile to my face. I worked at a children's hospital in the past and children and death has always seemed dark. I am left with a beautiful, happy, image and I believe the children are running heaven. Must be a great place.
