Thanks for posting this, it brought back memories. I am sorry for your loss, but always remember ... in order to lose something you must have had it first. It seems you had that blessing, hold on to the memory and cherish it. I lost my mother when I was seventeen years old and the pain never goes away, it just gets pushed into the background. I even have a rose tattoo for the memory. Thanks for a melancholy smile.
Lol, I love it ! Nothing like a good old fashioned spook story. And you picked the right time of year to post it. Something to tell the kids before they go to bed on Halloween night. You should post it every year at about this time. Nice job man, give us more.
LOL, I loved it ! Being a computer consultant I suppose makes me suseptable to this kind of writing. I made note of your intended desire to have it heard in mechanical monotone, so after I read it, I ran it through an old Sound Blaster speech program and the effect was very cool. I wanted to add the sound of a busted spring being sprung at the end. Boi'ngg !!! Thanks ...
This poem strikes me as one being written from the heart. I would guess that the story is true and that the writer is the little girl in the poem. It's that realism that tugs at the heart strings and give the written version it's emotional impact. More proof that writing can be good therapy. Keep up the good work and I am sorry for your loss.
