Thank you. This seems to be one of the very few patriotic passages I have read in a while. The imagery is fantastic, and when you describe how the marine is feeling you make it all the more real. In truth I loved this piece, I only hope that others will say that also, the men and women of the armed forces need all the support they can get.
My only beef was with a single line,
Garrett’s broad shoulders hunched reflexively, and he held his breath.
The sentance just seemed out of place, I can't exactly figure out why though.
Anyways, great piece, and keep up the great work.
