I just wanted to let you know that even if I wrote a story with the same plotline, it'd still be different. Plots don't make a different story. It's the author's voice that makes any story unique. And that is something no one can steal.
Your word choice, (part of your author's voice,) is light, airy, and delicate. It's quite pretty.
One area for improvement is the description. I have no idea what the house looks like. Try weaving in hints.
