I sense a melancholy underneath the exhuberance for spring. It could be something like nostalgia for springs past, or sadness that spring will eventually turn into a dry hot summer. Since you give no suggestion as to the source of the colors in spring they seem to be on the surface only... so that there is a sadness knowing that beneath the colorful exterior there is a grey and dying world. I would compare the feeling to an amusement park--there's something sad about the music from the merry-go-round.
