Nice rhyming and meter. Can't say that the subject matter speaks to me necessarily, or that the exact meaning of this message is clear to me. Is the shard the devil? Temptation? Or is the shard the message because it lies in the center. Anyway, a nice poem. Maybe could use some clarity if it's meant to convey a message.
Interesting stuff. I think there's ample inspiration for a story here. Maybe someone like yourself who decides to take the law into his own hands and make Cheney pay for what he's done. Someone with a particular set of skills if you catch my drift hahahaha. Anyway, the world is a mess. I don't pray, but I believe in Peace.
This is an interesting idea, and would be an awesome way to make a living, assuming you can count on 100% of your fans to buy 100% of your merch and whatever else. As far as that goes, making enough in book sales off 1000 buyers means for some expensive books or a prolific author. Either way, sounds challenging. I'd like to try though.
I'm guessing there's a metaphor at play here that I'm not picking up on. Or maybe this is just a story about a world where dress shoes come to life. Maybe try giving the dress shoes a bit more "personality." Some simple characterization would give some texture to these interaction.
Interesting insight into the self publishing process. What have you done so far with your marketing efforts? I'd be curious to hear what kind of success you see vis a vis sales in response to different strategies. I'm looking into this process after having received a batch of rejections on my first novel.
This has a very conversational feel, a la Rumi, which I like. I also like the last stanza, what you do with the syntax in the last line. I think a few details could really bring this poem to life. Clearly there is a conflict of sorts happening here. Over love? Over family? Over money? I'd like a little more perhaps.
Enjoyed this a great deal. Love the daily entry format. And you brought a lot of creative touches, nice details, that made for unobtrusive world creation. I believe this to be at the root of most successful sci-fi. We can get characters/adventure/whatever anywhere. Sci-Fi specializes in bringing the wonder. Kudos. Peace. Be the best.
