This is a well written and powerful vignette of a story. You have a way of building a character quickly through the use of dialogue. I didn't like the ending. I think she has too much life in her to give up. It doesn't go with her character or her relationship to her friend. She has her mom. I think a more poignant ending would be for her to walk on those cliffs and choose life. If it is as beautiful as he says it is, then the power can come from the setting and her choice.
