... Wow. I'm not quite sure how to feel about this story. It tears me in a few different directions, which I consider to be a good thing rather than a bad one. It's thought-provoking. It had me reading it a few times through to really decide what I was going to take away from it.
Of course, from reading just fifty-five words you can't fully understand the characters' motivations or true emotions, so most of what I'm feeling is confusion and curiosity about what would make "him" see "only beauty in death," and why it's necessary for them to die.
It's strange to link an idea like courage with suicide, because generally we see that as an act of desperation and not one of bravery. It's almost like the characters in the stories see themselves as martyrs. I wonder almost if they're glorifying death or if there's simply more to the story than I could get out of it with the low word count.
At any rate, this was really interesting. Anything that can make me feel something strongly will stay in my mind for a while. The title, over all, is what really sticks with me. Anyway, thanks for the intriguing little story, and sorry for giving you a review that's probably about three times longer than the story it's in response to!
