The EYES have it (sorry, i couldn't resist)! I never thought to see one word so many times in one poem, but I really got it.
Clever phrasing and pacing; the structure locked down tight. I will use this poem as a rule the next time I try to write a traditional poem. Great job!
Hot diggity dog!! And I thought the Grapes of Wrath was an excellent book all by itself!
You are a very brave and bold poet. To reconstruct John Steinbeck into a poem, it is not very much short of genius and I sincerely hope you go far with your writing. Amazing!
Thank you Mavis for a group of stories that I will always be glad I read. I especially loved "Take Away My Tears And Let Me Learn." I was very touched by that one.
Wow. I am glad that you are still writing for WDC and I wish you will continue to write. Tahnks again!
Oooo! GOOSEBUMPS!! Great poem and I loved the ending, I just wish there were more verses (LOL). The author established almost instant intimacy, but it was not sustained because the poem was interrupted.
I especially liked the final stanza; what an unexpected turn. Keep writing!
Oh my! I am FLOORED by this poem. It is just about the most perfect piece I've seen on the site so far.
I especially loved the "When lack is so abundant
That void is filled with naught,
The hopes of all the nothingness
Elusively are caught..." BRILLIANT!!
A philosophy class in meter and rhyme. WRITE ON AND ON!!
