ang lalim ng tagalog mo. but it was a good presentation. you should have an english translation of this for the benefit of the english-speaking readers of this web site. good luck.
there is a chique restaurant in downtown new york city by the name "le cirque" which was made famous lately by gloria arroyo, supposed to be the president of the republic of the philippines. here, she dined with a group of philippine congressmen and friends and spent $20,000 ( 1,000,000 pesos) that night. this is not unusual but it was an act of arrogance and insensitiveness since in the philippines, 9 million of its inhabitants are surveyed to be experiencing hunger and languishing in poverty.
sorry for this "inclusion"....i am a filipino and my heart bleeds whenever i could hear such news about my country. thanks...
i hope you will be proven right that "tomorrow, "he day we become stronger as a nation." as of now....there has been no change with our economy. depression is getting deeper and deeper with every passing day. obama seems not to be sincere and concentrated with all his promises.
i see....most of our people are getting hopeless. the light in the tunnel is not yet clear.
you may be right with your prognosis in a sense but i would suggest that you read and follow up the "mayan prophesies." search about them in "google.com"
it was a good beginning. i hope you could continue expounding your thoughts....and please give it a title, i would not know what i would be reading about.
i am not a republican nor a democrat. i am not even an american voter...but here in this part of the globe (asia), the name of obama stinks like osama. if obama's slogan is "a change that can believe in" then he is right. did he not change his name from barry soteiro to barrack obama? did he not change his religion from islam to whatever movement that suit his ego? did he not change his atheistic tendencies? i would say, he is a good speaker but his words are a lot of bull. they are empty. all words no action. what did he accomplish in the US senate except for two or three bills that he co-authored and unsignificant. and what is this thing that he "gifted" the clintons with $50 million just to side with him. more? from his campaign fund of 174 million dollars, he kept it half of that amount in an undisclosed bank in China. "he is dirty, man or a wolf in a sheep's clothing," says my guru.
i don't care about the results of the election in your country. i am just laying down some facts which your paid media fail to inform the american people.
similarly, the same is true in the philippines, the arroyo administration continues to kill or maim activists and journalists who are not in cahoots with the present dispensation. these acts like those of the bush administration must be censured worldwide.
if bush had been labeled as the worst president in the u.s.history, glora macapagal arroyo has been acclaimed as the most corrupt president of the philippines. she has also been named as the "hitler of the philippines" next to the former president, ferdinand marcos.
i liked well the poem...except for the last line. it seemed to me a little "off" from the rest. i know it was metaphorical but it somehow "removed" the focus from my mind.
the idea of the title seemed to have come a "little late" and it carried little impact to the reader like me. i found it amusing why would one have "panic attack" just the thought of going outside to post a letter? he/she has not been "out" yet to diagnosis this as having agoraphobia. i think a little adjustments is wanting here. don't you think so?
at any rate,i found the piece well written. it was a good topic to deal with and i liked it. continue writing.
same situation exists in the philippines under the administration of gloria arroyo..human rights are violated. activists are being hunted down and "salvaged."
the opposition party are being demolished with political suits and bribery...
suicide poems have negative values and vibrations.
i wish the author would devote his/her time to something more meaningful and positive.
i am not saying that the poem was good or it was bad. we all have the right to say what we want. this is a democratic country. but i believe it would be more fruitful to write on things that could have bright colors in our life.
sorry to rate your poem low. it was the thought but not the structure that i rated. you could have done much better on other topics, i would believe.
the article has made me remember the old place. i was at the same spot (orianburger) way back in 1979 when the wall dividing the 2 berlins was still standing. i remember that a german guard approached me from nowhere when i started shooting pictures of the place. it was verboten then....how i wish i could return to the place to find what has transpired since then..but the article vividly said all what i wanted to know.
it was a nostalgic piece for me. a good one.
