I don't have any experience in this area, but for a layman it does sound plausible. I'd also bet the farm that it's illegal - not only are you distorting the market with misinformation in an attempt to profit, but you're in effect making transactions with money that isn't yours and, if the investment went the wrong way, that would be a loss to someone that's tantamount to theft.
I enjoyed that! You managed to get a lot of content in there for just 1600 words. I guess the only thing I'd suggest - and it's really a minor thing- it to split the large paragraph near the end into 2 or 3 smaller parts just to make it a bit more readable.
As someone who was bullied at school in a particularly sick manner, I was too embarrassed to ask for help and just suffered instead. Looking back, I wish I had done things differently. People shouldn't put up with it. As you rightly say, "help is out there".
