Wow... I REALLY enjoy this poem.
I'm not a father yet, but my sister has two little ones and I distinctly remember her talking about things like this with the first baby, and now she's doing it again with her six-month-old son. So I think I identify with this as much as a childless man man.
Besides that, I really enjoy the flawless rythm and and flow, and the fact that there are no extraneous or missing syllables in a single line. And every rhyme is a good rhyme, not a word you have to mutter or cough to get it to fit. Frankly I believe you should've scored much higher in this contest. Kudos.
