Great poem! We do seem to need to practice generic grief with a redemptive spin at regular intervals to ready ourselves for our own terrible stuff. I love the concise way you reconstructed the way the viewer breaks. I've experienced that exactly. The line with " a kind of divinity that never wears thin " is my favorite.
I love it. The images are beautiful and the writing is straightforward and calm like a day on the water. I had a fishing dad myself and a sister too, so your poem really hits my heart. We should able to choose five days of our lives that we can relive at will. I'd definitely have a fishing day on my list! I look forward to reading more of your work. Brenda
Your story is charming. It also communicates that painful universal truth that you can't hold what you love too tightly. I love the image of frost paintings on the window - nice touch! Fairies
(or the idea of fairies) still fascinate me as I approach fifty. I'm still clapping!
I found this to be a very well written and moving piece. I have often wondered how I would react to a catastrophic health problem when it's hard at times to be positive in daily life - you sure came through the test of character with flying colors! I admire both your spirit and your writing. Hope things go well for you! Brenda
I found this piece to be well written. I too find the experience of moving from a familiar setting to one that provides more privacy to observe unobserved thrilling and potentially perspective changing. You're right - seeing into other people's windows can devastate the heart! Great job - hope to read more of your work. Brenda
