The sadness is palpable. To slowly lose something so dear, so much a part of oneself must be devastating. The love is expressed in such a complementary and thankful way that I know, without a shadow of doubt that it is real.
I can see how you won. You don't need my praise. Thank You for sharing your soul
I feel your fear of death. I can understand why you needed to quantify your life, and the lives of those you loved. I can see the sands of time slowly sifting downwards. You describe the experience in such a knowing way that I feel sad and scared for you at the same time. GOOD JOB!
A very good depiction of the awkwardness of life. We try so hard some times to impress, or exceed only to fall flat on our faces...Although this can be oh so devastating, experiences like this one are what seperates the chaff from the wheat.
It is a defining moment and you have captured it well.
I, like the person depicted in your poem, am a person who hid behind a smile. Many, many times I was hurting badly, but the last thing I wanted was for anyone to come up to me and ask me if anything was wrong, so a perma-smile was always on my face....
You hit the nail on the proverbial head...Good job
I think we all need and desire a place like that of which you speak. We all have fears and responsibilities that weigh heavily upon our souls. As you say, If we can just pick ourselves up, dust off the shame, guilt and remorse, what a dreamy place this world would be!
Share your dreams with another human being and thus here and now will be that world you seek
As a fellow allergy sufferer, I can relate and appreciate where you are coming from. This poem was your way of expressing that thought. A great literary piece, it is not but a fun bit of prose to be sure.
There is not too much rhyme, but there is reason
I liked it very much. It is your search for variety and colour in a world gone drab. It is a remembrance of a childhood where anything was possible and the sensations ruled...
It is so fresh and real that I too was tasting the tastes and it was a great escape if only for a little while...THANK YOU
A very welcome inovation. I have always hoped that someone would dare to be brave enough to improve on Disney and you have! It was very nervy and definately refreshing. You have an succinct control of the vernacular. You are individually one of the better poets I have read...BRAVO....billstc2000
I refrained from scoring a 5.0 only because no-one is perfect, but whoa, what talent. The cold power, held in check, like a panther in the tall grass. The dispassionate nullification of a human life albeit an evil one. Then to go on to the self exploration only to shockingly discover no remorse. A scary insight into ones own callousness. billstc2000
I acn see why you have won awards. Your writings ARE!. As a picture captures a moment in time, thus you have done with yor anecdotal prose. You are definately a power to be recognized and applauded. I aqm a newbie and hope you will comment on my small contribution. IN THE GREEN. I am in awe
Such sadness, such loss. To have held something so beautiful in your hand, only to have it disappear. You have expressed many emotions in a short piece and have given a small portion of your heart in the process. Thank you so much for your pain. I can now appreciate better what I have
