I do believe that many can identify with this malady. Too often we become lost in our head and frantically search for a way out. Unfortunately there is no 'delete' in our brains. To master demons of our minds we must download more information referred to as coping skills. It just doesn't end.
Okay. First of all the plot was excellent. The story held me and the suspense was terrific. I liked the theory of technology being uncharted waters and know through history that civilization can contribute to it's downfall to excesses of of many kinds.
"The Day the Earth Stood Still" was an excellent reference. I vividly remember klatuu barrada nikto (must check spelling) ;) I also recall many 'Twilight Zone' episodes with Rod Serling that broached this subject.
I am a 'country girl' and deeply one with the earth. I find it to be more reliable than 'talking heads' on a plasma screen. Though I am computer semi-literate I still have distrust deeply engrained in some technology. I am a nurse deeply entrenched in science and can enumerate the building of a human being from an atomic level. I have also seen incidences in this profession that cannot be explained by science.
Enough. I was highly impressed with your piece.
"I am not like you... I will fly away." This is a beautiful piece on walking one's path with determination and self assurance. refusing to be a creation of another's mind is also so strong. this type of poetry is usually not to my liking. you have put it so well together and boiund it tightly that it has a tremendous effect on the reader.
I really liked this. Being a nurse I've seen the ravages of mental disease of all sorts. Though fairly common in the elderly I can still see them as vibrant people wishing to continue their lives. Unfortunately, their thought processes stop them from doing so. This piece builds from mere frustration to death being peace for those afflicted. Great job.
I'm a nurse and had to think back a bit. I truly loved your question about the largest. Galaxy has a defined parameter as well as universe. It doesn't matter that it cannot be precisely calibrated, In and of itself many words denote finite boundaries. To put the word 'space' into play you have initiated an endless realm that is not within the means to be defined by the 'number crunchers.' That truly was a joyful question. At first nucleus popped into my head but red blood cells have none. It's great to know that my nursing knowledge can come in handy elsewhere!
