As children in India, we're often told of how God appears in disguise as a homeless person or beggar, and thus judges (and rewards) people for their kindness. This story brought back memories of those childhood stories for me. It's a nice read, and I look forward to reading more, when I find the time.
Reading this evoked so many different feelings. As expected, I felt sad. On the other hand, it brought back memories of my mother's suffering (she had cancer) - and the times my brother and I prayed to God to end her suffering. I am no great supporter of ending life, but I do believe that allowing someone to die with dignity is one of the greatest gifts we can give.
