Don't know if it the writing program that you used but the flow and the reading of this would work better if it were centered. I would have liked to see italics for his rhetorical questions and bold for his own responses. For me poetry is often how it reads off the page. My eyes as well as my heart do the reading.
Now about the content of the poem. This conversation has been had forever but I am glad that you have given to poetry to slow it down and realize the impact of just a short conversation. The poem presents a dilemma for the reader; the reader is forced to choose between romanticism or realism. Often life gives us this very option and sometimes we play both sides of the fence. I appreciate the fact that you wrote this. Continue writing.
