Wow! What an awesome plotline. I felt like I was reading a myth or legend warning you to stay away from magic things! It definitely ended different than I expected. I thought the wren was a test for the parson from the Lord. And then, to find out that the parson had an unspoken wish for Dorleen to be his wife!! Very well written!
What an enjoyable read! I love a lot of details and the part about the imprint of her lips on the cup was such a good idea. I have to say I was not expecting such an emotional story. This is genuinely the greatest short story I have read. I will definitely have to take a look at your profile. Keep writing! And Happy Holidays!
