I enjoyed the chronicling of this writer's memories.  It's not many people that can sit and recall, then write down facts so fluently.  I'm a sucker for history, so this story was right up my ally.  The writer brought me right to the late 1930's.  The time of the Great Depression didn't deter from family dysfunction, it inhanced it.  I adore the writer's grandmother's gumption.  A single mother raising nine children is hard enough but to throw in an economical upheaval is down right bravery.  I look forward to the next instalment.
