In my view, the primary focus should be on encouraging the writers to write. I do not review items I don't enjoy anymore because I see it as a waste of my time. So, if you get a review from me, I enjoyed reading your work. The amazing thing about this whole process is that reading an inspiring review usually leads to me reading more of a reviewer's work also. So, it's a win-win.

something I do not like. I do not enjoy writing hyper-critical reviews. I do NOT believe that "honesty" is a synonym for "mean." If I see someone being "mean" here on the public reviewing page, in group behaviors, or just acting as a bully I will not send them my reviews. The only exception to that would be judging a site contest - there all items get honest (and hopefully diplomatic) reviews of the work from me with no exceptions.

I clicked on the read and review option and it brought me to your fine poem where you make use of the site's emoticons in every line. I particularly enjoyed the notion of flying to warmer shores - it is about a foot of snow where I am today. You paint an idyllic picture of a romance and the invitation to fantasize that it generates.

Finding a way to use an emoticon in so many lines is very creative and well thought out. I particularly liked the "skull" at the end for death as I hadn't seen that one before. I haven't perused them like I should have.

Nice work - well done - I enjoyed reading this and thought it flowed very well.

*Cool**Idea* I thought that the picture and the title convey a warmth of spirit and something I needed to read today. Both drew me in.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This is my favorite part as your words stirred memories of feelings that can carry one away with a happy sense of well being:

"Wake me up inside

And let my soul fly,

Far away to the sky,"

This is a comforting and inspiring notion that someone has the ability and inclination to do this for us. Someone or something we believe in, I reckon.

Very engaging and well written poetry - proves you don't need a whole lot of words to convey a lot to a reader.

*Cool**Idea* This transports me to a warmer time (there is about a foot of snow where I am at the moment) when I was a young child and everything seemed wonderful.

Your rhyming couplets flow very well. This is my favorite:

"Peroxide bleaches and lemon spray,
flip flops and sunny days"

It took me back to a care-free time when I used to spray Sun-in on my hair to bleach it.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I hope you have safe travels to somewhere with nice weather. I have fears no matter how I travel, but I never regretted getting on with it. I have irony here because I stayed home this weekend because of weather.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I liked it all, (when I felt that I understood it) especially this part:

"Internet arguments are stupid for many reasons, but this is a big one: you're not going to change anyone's mind with any number of anecdotes, any amount of data, any quantity of reason, or any pure charismatic persuasiveness."

I don't think you change anyone's mind by arguing with them, whether it's on the internet or otherwise. To me the internet is a big place to show off rather than persuade. I always run when someone demands I present my side of an argument. Scary times.

Hope you have a fun time on your trip and win a lot if you have a chance to gamble where you are going to be.

*Cool**Idea* It is good to stop and thank God and think about all the wonders of one's life and faith.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I have a prayer that I repeat to myself that comforts me. That is how I read this - it's an affirmation of faith, but also something that brings comfort in the repeating of the refrains.

In times of fear and torment, I am more likely to repeat it to myself. This is a gentle reminder to do that on good days, also.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I am looking out at about 10 inches or so of snow. I live in the south so it's unusual. You are right, though. There is something a bit magical about a December snow. Maybe it is the fact that it forces people to stop the madness leading up to the holiday.

We are all shut in by this as the road crews are not experienced enough to clear the roads fast. We just have to wait it out.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I loved it all - this especially resonated with me today:

"She remembers the snows of early spring or of late autumn are different from December snow. To her, December Snow seems fresher, purer, and more resilient."

That comforts me amidst my fear of the cold and not being able to go anywhere. There is a warmth to that too, that speaks of childhood memories and the feeling of security no matter what.

*Cow* You visited me semi-recently with a nice review. So here I am - it is always my pleasure to read and review your work.
This seemed to be an appropriate poem for me to review today. We have about ten inches of snow on the ground so far and are predicted to get more. And I live in the south so it is kind of unusual for here and especially this early in the season.

It's pretty, but no one knows how to handle it here so there is a lot of panic connected to it. Trying our best to stay in and stay warm, but with a heat pump it's not easy.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I love this part as it is comforting to me, someone who no longer enjoys the winter weather:

"But seems to bring a peace,
To all the things that grow
As they sleep away the season,
Underneath the snow"

You bring a sense of peace and acceptance to a wintry scene. Well done, my friend! Well done! There is joy to be had even when it is scary and cold. Thanks for the reminder!

*Cool**Idea* Empathy is a wonderful thing. We try and find it when we have worry about those we care for. Moving the feeling to other things gives us perspective when we might otherwise be overwhelmed by fear.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This part was very moving to me:

"I can feel its heat
its passion
in addition to its pain.
And I can feel its strength
its will
in addition to its despair."

We all go there in one way or another on our own. It is a blessing to have those around who feel things for us that give us inspiration and strength to carry on.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* The photo and title drew me in as it is a blizzard here today. I was transported to a beach in lovely memories of times spent in that sort of setting, with the warmth and everything else.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

I love the shared fun and sense of humor that is conveyed here. Being "almost there" can be better than being perfect. Nothing is ever really perfect, but sharing a laugh at a predicament that two people share is priceless.

This was my favorite passage, but it was all romantic, loving and fun - can't do much better than that!

"I love spending time with you.
Even if it's for a day.
A walk on the beach sounds lovely.
As we walk hand in hand along the sandy trail."

Thank you for taking me, as a reader, on such an enchanted journey.

*Cool**Idea* You describe the spookiness of it very well. I like how you incorporated the quote into an area that you know.

This made me remember Gettysburg, PA. There is definitely a haunted feeling when you walk around the battlefield where so many perished.

This tie of year and the December snow makes everything more haunting and foreboding. Very well described and conveyed!

*Cow* I am doing the I Write in 2018 thing and you posted before me. Always a pleasure - I always smile and think of your brilliant masquerade portrayals, (like Batman) *Mask* my friend!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think that a secret admirer is a nice thing, but the internet makes it more likely to run across an impostor. You spelled "impostor" correctly, unlike me. I think you came to the conclusion of "impostor" and thus, picked the title.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This is a short poem, but I took it to say a lot about internet stuff. When I first started, I thought I had someone who really took my part and enjoyed my writing. It was more someone who in real life wanted to support me, but be secretive about it. It sort of took the wind out of my sails in the confidence department. When I first started on the internet, I didn't always use the best judgment. *Blush*

After meeting and connecting with a few friends, I realized you can find good friends here, but when it comes to the romance and admirer of the old writing stuff, it is better to evaluate everyone in person. That is probably more than you care to know (TMI, HOOves), but here I am sharing. LoL Chalk it up to tHiNg being chatty on a Monday morning.

I enjoyed your poem and learning how to spell the word "impostor" correctly. My only advice is to be careful, but this tells me that you know that already.

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think we run across those sorts of fair weather types all through life. It is a challenge to see through things and know who and what is genuine. However, the truth reveals itself when time has past. I think Mott is spot-on there.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

"Yet we continue with these friends of ours
Knowing they’ll leave us at the first signs of showers
But forgive them we must, for it’s our way
And when they need us, we too cannot stay"

Forgiving is a sign of grace and that comes all in good time, also.

*Cool**Idea*This is a great, self affirming take on the prompt. The ones that do the most damages are those voices within.

I think it is great to get rid of those self inflicted thoughts. Bet everyone can identify with this since we are all works in progress. Whether we admit it or not, we all have these sorts of doubts about being good enough.

*Cool**Idea* I think that November is a time for gathering of strength that you accumulate in the summer. Right before winter there is the sense of letting one's defenses down and building up fortitude for what is to come. I am experiencing some of that myself this year.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This part resonates with me:

"our trunks storing water
for the coming drought,
our limbs gathering air.
Waking to morning chimes
we watch our leaves falling."

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think that the reaction to weather is a lot more exaggerated now than when I was a kid. But, I never realized some things that weather could do because my parents gave me that safe, grounded sense of security.

I have since learned that some key assumptions I made were wrong, but it is good to keep one's wits about one and also to have a sense of humor. The Dad here has a good, grounded sense of what is important in life and hopefully, he will know what to do if the flood waters rise too far.

Our mail delivery person does not come if the road has a bit of rain on it. Not just the torrential stuff and forget about snow or anything resembling ice or sleet. We don't get mail on a lot of days now. So, school cancellations and "mail delivery" no shows are a sign of the times, I guess.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

You bring some recent family weather experiences to mind.

My niece lives in Houston so she and I learned that rain can come up through the floor boards. I always assumed it would come at the house in a wave or something.

Her son went to the bus stop after the storm, and an alligator was standing there waiting.

Not to condemn the alligator - the hurricane probably freaked him out.

You have constructed a well written short story that puts modern reactions and overreactions into a life affirming perspective - nicely done!

What I Thought About as I Read:

*Right**Leaf* I thought about how we should all cherish the things we love about the world. Buildings are very low on the list for me, too. Anywhere that animals are happy is beautiful because of that - the calls of nature I guess.

What I thought about when I grazed in your pasture and did I swish my tail?

*Right**Ghost* I thought about stopping to appreciate all that is good and memorable. Ireland was like that so sometimes I look at my pictures from there and just relive it.

I found your title to be very moving and carefully chosen to reflect the theme of your poem.

I have suffered loss like this where I had no clue and it adds to the guilt and the grief - the fact that I was in the dark when the time came to do something. I just had no clue.

*Cool**Idea* This is an inspiring poem of unwavering faith and devotion. The truth of it comes through with eloquence and moving language.

This part stays with me:

When I think of You, You light up my soul
This radiant light shines from within.

It is how one feels when one turns things over to God, a greater power that one believes in wholeheartedly. Well done!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think you set the stage for mystery with the disappearance of the moon. Or is it three moons? Well, anyway, not being able to find it is a puzzle and maybe a harbinger of things to come when one's way is lost.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

*Thumbsup* Kella is not alone in the underground. I think going away from the light is always scarier and it goes well with the theme of not being able to find the moon.

You have the start of an interesting adventure in the making. Nice work!

*Cool**Idea* I think your poem is heartfelt and moving.

What does HOOves applaud and moo about while reading your item?

*Thumbsup* This part is timeless in its eloquence. It could apply to any graveside caused by war:

Sacrificed victims of their circumstance,
Spoils inhumed under the soil where slain,
And the flags waved on a hillside in France.

Your poem is excellent and I enjoyed reading it very much.

An Unusual Suspect of The Bovine Kind
What led me to meander into your pasture, wearing my trenchcoat?

*Leaf* You sent me some very nice reviews and here I am to visit you and to read and review. I have had some health issues that have made me slower than usual and I am sorry for that, but here I am!

What did I think about as I read your work?

*Cool* I could identify with the child's fear and sense of loss being overwhelming this time of year. My losses came as an adult, but you never forget that happening at Christmas time. It is a test of faith for those of all ages, to be sure.

What made me swish my tail and what made me stop and moo?

This is my part stays with me:

As Pricilla eased up to her momma’s side
She kneeled on her tiny knees to pray
"Lord above I ask you please on this Christmas day
That you let my momma stay here with me."

I was heartened that her faith was rewarded. That is how is should be when children ask and express faith that all will be well.

Very touching and moving poetry - well done!

*Cow* You sent me a very nice review a while back so here I am at last. I have had some health issues so please forgive my lateness in visiting!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I think that kitty has a lot of adventures. I have never known a cat that liked a bath so this was very consistent with that. I guess it happens to all of us some time - the bath time experience - whether we enjoy it or not.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

*Thumbsup* This was my favorite part:

"Mad as all get out could be!
Water went splashing
Master was wet
And kitty paid his debt."

Kitty found a way to get back at human so all's well with the world for now.

This was a delight from start to finish. Well done!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* I wish I knew then what I know now. I didn't fully appreciate everything that was given so freely to me. It is a bit of regret and wistful reminiscence. And when health deteriorates we have time to think about things in hindsight, which is always harsh.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This was my favorite part:

I yearn
for different journeys now.
A shaft of warm sunlight,
old choruses to sing.

Music really does help, doesn't it? I find that on difficult days it does wonders for the mood.

Brilliant poetry as always. Well done, indeed!

What does hoovsie think about while perusing your item?

*Cool**Idea* This poem is about remembering a place you love.

I am horrified by what transpired in Pittsburgh. It is a monstrous thing, but you have risen above that with a wonderful remembrance of poetry. We think of our childhoods (if we are lucky) as safe havens. I thought this was remarkable and the words resonate with the cherishing of what went before and what is to be overcome going forward.

What does hooves moo and applaud about while reading your item?

This part stays with me:

"I lay a spray of flowers
at water's edge.
I whisper prayers
for the Tree of Life."

May we all face the future with such gentleness and grace. Beautifully written and I am so sorry for the deed that was done.
