First of all, thanks LL-- Well, as promised, here is my list of goals for March. To do list: Update my profiles on all the sites I'm on, especially the content sites. Improve my record keeping and calendar work. Daily: Write at least 4 - 6 articles a day. Sounds like a lot but they're small. Write an entry for either the DFF or Writer's Cramp contest. Write at least 2 reviews every day. Monthly Get out at least 4 - 6 pitch letters. Get pitch letters out to local businesses. Project Get my blog created, up and running. Post first blog entry. Get social media involved in blog. This is my first attempt at making goals with respect to writing so I may have to do some amending. |
You know what the hard part of writing is? Notice I didn't say being a writer. It's the lack of structure. The absence of a recognizable framework. Push through a layer of understanding and there are a dozen more in its place, each exponentially more complex. It seems as though I was just treading water, banging my head on a brick wall or whatever cliche you choose to insert here. But, finally, I got some advice that I believe is going to make a difference. Set attainable goals! That's it. Sounds so simple that it should have been common sense. But I think everything is so overwhelming that common sense can lost in the confusion. So, as of today, I'll be setting attainable goals and working to reach them. I can tell that I'm already more focused. Well I guess that's how it's suppose to work. Posting daily, weekly, and March goals tomorrow. Also posting project goals as well. |
