Scribbles. Interesting. Looking around it's a lot to take in. It's exciting, however. Finally a community of writers.I'm interested to see what growth awaits me!

Welcome to Writing.com. Take your time to understand how it works to fully enjoy the site.
Welcome! There definitely is a lot, but there's lots of helpful people and there's also the Writing.Com 101 in the upper right corner and the Newbie areas have good info as well.

Do you have anything in particular you want to do? Write for fun, publish your biography or memoir, learn different forms of poetry? It's all here in some form or another. Depending on what you're into, there's tons of info here (use the Search bar in the upper left corner, though be sure to click to search all of WdC, not just your port, the default search *Laugh*), but some activities are more active than others.

I encourage you to see more by going to the Community Newsfeed and meeting folks on there as well. Click Newsfeed, then you'll be taken to your Personal Newsfeed by default. Here you will see official WdC notes and anything posted by a person whose plus sign you have clicked once or twice.

You likely have a pretty sparce Newsfeed right now. But along the top of your Personal Newsfeed, you'll see "View the Community Newsfeed." Click that and you'll see what everyone is posting (within your rating limit)! Scroll, Like, comment, and start making friends!

When you find a person you enjoy interacting with, to find them more easily, I encourage you to double click their plus. This will turn you into a fan of theirs and their Newsfeed notes will not only appear on your feed, but they'll be notified that you're now a fan. A few of us reward our fans (I do) or will automatically fan them back. *Smile* Though most folks do neither. *Wink* If you only click once, it's all the same, but you have set them as a favorite of yours and they aren't notified--it's all private. But since some of us reward fans, I say it's better to fully fan people. *Bigsmile* Double click until you see the megaphone. *Delight*

If you find an item you want to keep up with, say a contest you want to enter later, you can also add it to your list of favorites. Both things you fan and things you favorite will appear on the same list. Here, I think it's usually less important if you click once or twice. But you have to click to enter the forum/item and click the plus in the upper right corner, not the one under the title. Otherwise, you are fanning the person, not the item. If you click the plus on the link, as you see below...

That fans the person, not the item. You have to click to get to the right plus to keep track of it. *Smile*
