I wrote a book for NaNoWriMo last year, and have been working diligently on edits and such this year. I finally finished my third editing round, and am letting it rest for a few weeks. After I go through and edit one more time, I'll be ready for beta readers.

Between edits to my novel, I've been updating my Everine story. If you are interested in reading the latest updates, start here:

I just saw this on FB and thought I'd share. I can't share just the photo, so here's the URL.

Interesting challenge. might try it.
Hail and well met fellow bards,

I've been away from the site for a long time. Five years ago, my new manager made it clear I was the next to go. It took her three years, but she derailed my career--a mere four years away from actual retirement. A few months after my forced "retirement," the COVID pandemic became our constant companion. The end of 2020 was brutal--my partner and I lost our home to wildfire, we contracted COVID, and I ended the year sending my faithful fur kid of 12 years over the Rainbow Bridge.

None of that broke us, though. Our lives have a way of working to our advantage. We have a stable (and relatively inexpensive) place to live (our situation is a win-win-win for us and our roommate). We can't ask for much more. (Well, we want our new home built sooner than later, but our building plans are lost in the void at the moment.)

I've been blogging about our experience as a form of therapy. It's taken me over a year, but I feel more ready to write about something more than our rebuilding. I'm crawling out of the shell of grief a little more each day. I came back to writing.com for story ideas and writing prompts. Like many writers, I'm also looking for feedback and critique on improving my storytelling.

Thanks for listening. If you are interested in reading my blog, you can find it at jjshaun dot com. I call my site Tavern Tales.

I'm glad everything worked out well for you. Welcome back to WDC.

I have been writing a Fan Fiction story based on a D&D campaign I am playing with my family. I am writing the story from the PoV of my character (PC) in the campaign and filling in the rest as I get to learn who the other characters are based on how they play. I have asked each of the other players to provide a basic backstory of their PCs so I can fill in various conversations and such to help fill out personalities.

I am looking for constructive feedback regarding what works and doesn't in this chapter. What feedback I have received from friends and family has helped tremendously, and improved the story in places that I had missed. I am looking forward to your comments and feedback.

Many thanks in advance to all who read my story.

I need to get serious about finishing the novel I started many years ago.
