I can't seem to figure out how to do it on my own. How do I stop being a fan of someone on here? When you press the thing to remove them as a favourite, it still keeps them as a fan, which I don't want. I've never even wanted to try this before, but there's some content that I really don't care to have in my newsfeed and I can't figure out how to make it go away. |
See your port in the top right corner? Click on it and your favourite will pop out. I am on mobile and forgot how it looks on desktop. Bottomline is click on 'Favourite' at the top right panel then click on the Authors tab. You will see x. Click on the x to remove favourite. |
Elycia Lee ☮ - This doesn't seem to have worked, but thank you. I'll try again when I'm next on and less tired, it's possibly user error at this point. |
To stop following or being a fan of someone on desktop, click on My Account, then Favorites. It will list all the people and groups you're following - just click the small x beside the name to remove the entry. If you just want to hide certain notes or people from a newsfeed, there's a small downward arrow at the top right of every post. Click on that and choose the option you want. This isn't as strong as an actual block, it just hides their posts on the feed. |
Alright, so computer update. Replacing the hard drive didn't work because even though my hard drive IS toast, apparently so is my motherboard! My motherboard is proprietary, which means that in my case I cannot buy any motherboard that isn't the exact one I have because it won't fit. This could be quite difficult and/or pricy for me to manage, and I simply can't on disability. So my actual plan involves replacing the motherboard AND the case. I need time to scrape together the cash for these additional parts I wasn't counting on getting. In the meantime, I've been provided with a temporary solution! My mother's place of work was getting rid of a computer that was in good condition because it's no longer suitable for what they were using it for, and she was able to bring this home for me to use until I can find a good price on the parts I still need. So I have a computer! It isn't mine, but it's good to have one that I can use for my daily stuff without any concerns. It's just a shame that it didn't work out to have a computer up and running for GOT. And speaking of GOT! Congrats to the winners, everyone who placed in top three, and to House Mormont for still doing okay even though I couldn't be the leader I wanted to this time around. Hopefully we can eventually have another I can participate in properly! |
A family friend has purchased a new hard drive for me as a gift, which is incredibly sweet. He got it much cheaper than I could have by purchasing out of country (he regularly crosses the border for work), and he should have it to me some time this weekend. I'm so bummed my computer troubles meant I didn't really get to do GOT, because I wanted to so badly, but I'm grateful that my computer should be up and running soon. I'm also excited to just be able to do my regular things after being off my schedule for weeks (I'm autistic, so off schedule is NOT the vibe). Fingers crossed that this sorts everything out for me! |
You’ve been out of commission, but in my thoughts. I wish I’d checked your notebook before… I thought it was health issues holding you back. Computer issues are Best wishes for your internet connection! Don’t worry about us, we’re doing fine |
Thanks, I appreciate that. This was so unexpected, my computer just absolutely died. I hadn't been feeling well at the beginning, but when I was well enough after a couple days to dive in and binge write, my hard drive (I think) just decided to completely go. I can't believe how bad the timing is, I've been wanting GOT to come back for ages. That's just how it goes 🥴 |
Well I've tried nearly everything to repair my computer, including reinstalling windows. It still isn't up and running. It's looking more and more like it's probably a hardware issue, but I still haven't determined what hardware in particular. I'm so stressed and annoyed. My mum is going to help me over the next couple of days and hopefully we can figure out what needs to be replaced quickly (and it doesn't turn out to be absurdly expensive). |
