This is the WdC birthday week (Sept. 1-7), so things are really hopping! Be sure to check stuff out.
One of the best ways to see what's going on is to get on the Community Newsfeed. When you click Newsfeed (on the left), you only see your Personal Newsfeed, which is probably not that interesting yet. But along the top of your Personal Newsfeed, you'll see "View the Community Newsfeed." Click that to see what's going on outside of your tiny corner of WdC. Scroll, Like, comment, and start making friends. Unlike some social media, it's perfectly acceptable to comment on a note from someone you don't know. If you find a person you like and want to keep up with, be sure to double click their plus sign until you see the megaphone to become a fan of theirs. Some people will even automatically fan you back, though most won't. But some folks, like me, reward all their new fans or even all there fans from time to time.
