The first (10) ten chapters of my opening novel, "The Dark Society," are posted and ready to enjoy! As usual, all opinions and remarks are welcomed. Second, is it true you have to have a "paid" membership to even enter a contest? https://www.writing.com/main/portfolio/view/darkscapemedia |
I entered contest before I got an upgraded account. When you open the contest forum check in the heading info and see Restrictions: that tells who can and can not enter the contest. |
Anyone know when the next writing contest is/or how to enter it? I have to find a different outlet for my work on this site, besides collecting dust. |
A great place to check is here which includes official WDC contests:
Another good place to check for contests currently running is found here:
Lastly, just scrolling through the newsfeed you’ll find people promoting their contest. Good luck on your submission(s)! ![]() |
Thanks for mentioning "The Contest Challenge" ![]() ![]() Darkscape Entertainment, when Jeremy said to check the newsfeed, be sure to check the COMMUNITY newsfeed, not just your personal newsfeed. When you click "Newsfeed" on the left, it takes you to your personal newsfeed where you only see official WdC stuff and things from people whose heart you've clicked ones (to fan them) or twice (to set them as a favorite). Along the top of you personal newsfeed, you'll see "View the Community Newsfeed." Click that and you'll see what everyone is posting (within your rating limit) so you'll see new contests, new activities, and new friends. I recommend checking the community newsfeed regularly -- daily is ideal, but at least a few times a week. Best of luck finding something you're interested in! On "The Contest Challenge" ![]() |
How do you enter your works in a contest? Or, do you have to pay for that too? |
Hello Everyone! The first (9) Nine chapters of my newest book, "The Dark Society," are posted and ready for review! |
Hi Darkscape Entertainment ![]() If you'd like folks to check out your writing, it'll help if you include a link to the item(s) in your portfolio. We are a lazy lot around here, or at least some of us are. ![]() ![]()
It's also a great idea to review the work of other members of the community. Reviewing one another's work is how we learn and grow–both by reviewing and being reviewed. For guidelines on how to give reviews on WDC, check out "Reviewing On Writing.Com" ![]()
