Welcome to the community. It takes time to get to know folks but you will find others who have similar backgrounds. I've lived in small towns in Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska and grew up in a German Lutheran / German Catholic factory town (oil and water). Where I live in Montana is more 'open'.

Posting on the Newsfeed is good way to invite people to visit you. Posting in forums is great for getting to know others. Writing is a process and all of us are at different stages in that journey (in life too).

There are many parents with children and many cat-lovers. That's not a bad place to start as family is relatable to most everyone.
