Inquiry: since it's been so long since I posted a story here, can you have a story here and sell it elsewhere at the same time?

I think you should ask that publisher. I know with contests, they often want you to remove it from anywhere else if you are on their shortlist.
Howdy! I posted my first short story on here in three(?) years, a steampunk/superhero adventure set in the late 18th century. Give it a go and let me know whatcha think! Thank you!

COOL! Welcome back to writing! Or to writing short stories, at least. *Bigsmile*

You can post a WdC link using the item ID. See the number in the address above? 2257751 is the item ID. It's also found on the outside of the item when reviewing your port and on the item, below and to the right a tad from the title. Finally, if you've worked on it recently, it often pops up after you type the colon. *Smile*

To create a WdC link, you use braces, not parentheses. Braces are just above the brackets on the keyboard. There are a number of ways to link items, but item and bitem (big item) are the 2 most common ways. I'll show you how to do them and how they look below. *Smile*

I hope this helps future advertising. And congratulations on bursting out of whatever was keeping you from writing short stories! *Heart*
If this isn't the pot to post this, let me know, but I'm excited! Brand spanking new! My earliest tale of Flag Epsom: superhuman, professor, cyborg, fuddy-duddy...hero. See what happens in this short story, where steampunk meets superhumans, and the world changes...

Howdy. I posted the prelude to my third novel! Thoughts appreciated.

I added another 900+ words to THE FRIGHT PIT stonepunk tale, so it is now in the 'Moving Right Along' stage of a WIP. Drop by the Punk Fiction Library. Read it. Review it. Read and review the other great tales! Learn your punks!

Added a bit more to my stonepunk saga, THE FRIGHT PIT. Take a gander when you have the time, and let me know how it's going. Thanks!

A hostile subterranean world. A woman of might. Danger. Mystery. Jagged edges. STONEPUNK!
STONEPUNK! You heard right. I am working on a stonepunk piece on WdC. Please don't read it. It is nowhere near done, a rough draft, and will be put in the Punk Fiction Library upon completion. Get to know your punks.
