Norb, I love that idea. It means I don’t need to narrow my choice of songs quite so much. I prefer later era Beatles, in general. But I love most of their early stuff, too.
I would say if you're going to drop a list of songs weekly, up it to 10, not 7. That gives you more to choose from, and for us more options, as their styles have changed over the years. Like, I prefer later-era Beatles, but some may prefer their early stuff. A good mix each week would be lovely!
Wow, great idea 💡😸🎶🎸🎹🥁📻🪇
I've been a Beatles fan since I was 9 watching them on Ed Sullivan!
I've been dealing with health issues but getting better and should be good by June 😁!
Love the MB ideas!
Lots of things to think about. I'm definitely going to do this. I think the main reason I said 30 song prompts is because I can't narrow it down any fewer than that. I've been trying to choose which songs I would use, and it's hard when you consider Lennon and McCartney alone wrote over 300 .
Maybe, I can give you seven songs to choose from each week. And you can use was many of them as you want. If you want to write every day, that's cool. If you just write one of them; also cool.
Leave it with me. I'll figure it all out. At least I know there are people who want to take part, so it's a definite go-er
(Whiskerfacebythefireplace, I love Maxwell's Silver Hammer, too. Maybe I'll include it in the challenge. It would be a fun write.)
Okay. I'll share it on the newsfeed in May to start in June. Unless you would all rather I hold it in a different month. How does June work for you all?
As others have mentioned, writing a story/poem once a week would be easier. I like the idea of no pressure. There are no stipulations that a participant has to write every day.
Okay, I was a little puzzled what exactly you want to do, Rach.
Write a song / poem OR write actual stories every day... or BOTH?
I'm not sure if I could write a Storyevery day , not to mention poems/songs (absolutely NOT my cups of tea), BUT: as a Beatles lover it would intrigue me.
Maybe – for a possible short story variation: one story / week (consider offline lives) where you can win the individual Beatles MBs and the All Four for the BEST story (or poem/song) at the end of the month.
Hope that makes sense.
But whatever you do, it is intriguing.
One of my most beloved stories, "Summer in the City" , was inspired by Here comes the Sun
The Great Hall shines with prismed light
As banners wave with all their might
Upon the bench, the centrepiece
Surrounded by one dozen geese,
A quarter stag, a loin of veal,
Stuffed chickens, sturgeon, grace this meal
By my side sits Francis Drake,
A good friend (but that’s all he’ll make)
His gift, a pendant packed with jewels,
Made me, for a moment, drool
But, while I’m fond of Frankie-boy
His gift was just another ploy
To win my heart (which shall not turn)
Oh, will that playboy ever learn?
A sugar plum excites my tongue
It takes me back to days of young,
My mother, the Queen Ann Boleyn,
Obsessed with staying trim and thin,
So, all her sweets were passed to me
And I accepted them with glee
Back to today, my birthday treat
Determines cakes and strawberries, sweet
Shall pass my lips, go to my hips,
But so what? I’m now forty-six!
A long life, I already claim
And, I’m sure, I’ll go down in fame
So, to the food, I raise a toast,
“My birthday repast thrills me most.”
