PROMPT: July 23rd - Write about a fear you experienced as a child that you have since overcome. Overcome Arachnophobia I overcome arachnophobia, or am in the process of overcoming it. I am now capable of killing most spiders without much difficulty. Sometimes I still get chills up my spine when I see one of the little bitches, but I'm working on that. I haven't encountered on recently that I can't kill if I have my shoes on or a heavy object in one of my hands. I don't set up screaming if I feel one crawling on me in the middle of the night, most of the time I can brush it off of me. I still turn the bathroom light on before going in, but most of the time I don't look up at the ceiling expecting to see one. I've come to the conclusion that spiders aren't out to get me, they just want to live and hunt. I don't want them living and hunting in my apartment. If I see the web of an orbe-weaver spider outside, I won't destroy it. In most cases I will admire its beauty, especially on morning when the dew makes rainbows in the web. |
