For my blog "Prompt: What is one thing you feel God is inviting you to right now?"

He's inviting me to wake up. I'm very sleepy this morning and I have a thousand things to do. I know that God will sustain me.

Right now it is storming outside. I was going to take a shower to wake up but opted for coffee instead. I will not shower in a storm. It may be a wife's tale but I don't want to take the chance. I think I will simply change clothes and wait it out. It's suppose to storm all day here.

For my blog "Prompt: What gives you the most hope for the future?"

I don't know what the future holds, but I know who holds my future. As the song says "I don't know what holds my future, but I know Who holds my hand."

The future does not scare me. I know God is in charge. As long as God is in charge, which is forever, then I don't need to worry. Even if a category five hurricane hits in my life, I know God is bigger than the hurricane.

Do you believe love is eternal and destined? If so, why do most people find their true love in their hometown?

Yes. I believe love is destined. I believe God plans for each moment of our lives, the good moments and the bad. He does not cause the evil but plans around it.

Jesus is the epitome of love. He is all we need.

For my blog "Prompt:
What makes you feel the most alive in your walk with Christ?"

I do not want to sound coy or that I am making light of the question, but I always feel alive in Christ. I have felt that way since I became saved. Being alive in Christ to me means having peace. I have peace even in the midst of the storm because I know who holds me up. Jesus is my support and my sustenance. I wish I could break some of my bad habits and be more like Him.

For my blog "Prompt:
Where have you seen God this week? How have you experienced him? Do you have a testimony this week?

I have seen evidence of God in a lot of ways this week. Every time I wake up and see creation around me I see evidence of God. Every time I look at my body I see evidence of God. I am constantly reminded.

For my blog Second Prompt: "I read some statistics last night that both startled me and broke my heart. The statistics said that over 58% of Christians do not believe in Holy Spirit. Of those who do believe 34% believe He is subordinate to Jesus and God, maybe the boss of angels or something. An addition percentage believe His is simply the power of God.

What is Holy Spirit to you?"

I am a preacher and a graduate student. I make it my purpose in life to know the word of God and correct or at least take a stand against heresy. The believe that Holy Spirit is anything but third person of the Godhead, co-equal in substance, power, and glory with God the Father and Jesus the Son is blasphemy against Holy Spirit. He is not a ghost and referring to Him as Holy Ghost is heretical. He is a Person. He is co-equal to God the Father and God the Son. He works to glorify the Son from whom He proceeds. He is not created by the Son but rather proceeds from the Son like a soldier proceeds from an officer. He is a part of the Godhead and is a person who can be grieved, (Ephesians 4:30) and saddened by our sin. He is our Comforter and our teacher. He is Who He is.

For my blog Prompt: "Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Have I dumped all of my emotions and worries on God? Do I trust him to handle all of my problems?"

I never worry or fret over issues. I know that any mountain I face God is right there with me. In Haggai the high priest Zerrubabel was facing a mountain. He had just returned to Jerusalem and had the daunting task of rebuilding the temple. He was standing there facing a mountain of stones and debris that had formerly been the temple. The people had set up the altar and then basically abandoned the work to rebuild their homes. Zerrubabel was depressed and lethargic. God sent Haggai to cheer him up. Haggai tells Zerubabel to say "Grace, Grace" over this mountain in his life and God will remove it.

Jesus references this incident in Matthew when Jesus says that if we have just a mustard seed size grain of faith we can say to the mountains in our lives "Cast yourself into the sea" and they will be removed. Where is your mustard seed to say "Grace, grace" to your mountains?

For my blog "Prompt: Hebrews 4:16 - "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Am I shaming myself or believing that grace isn't enough? Am I holding onto guilt after I have confessed my sins to God and know I have been forgiven?"

When I was a very young everything, (age nine), I had a conversion experience. On the way home from church, my mom told me "You know this means you have to be sinless, right?"

She then proceeded to show me in the King James how Jesus said we were to be "perfect" as God in heaven is perfect. I did not know that the word perfect for King James meant "mature". Neither did she. Perfect for me meant "sinless" and I beat myself up severely every time I fell short of that. Finally, an elder in a church I attended seen through my struggles and showed me how the meaning of the words in King James can change. For example, Acts 2:38 in King James says we are to be baptized for the "remission" of sins. Remission today is something that happens when a disease such as cancer is stopped. To the King James translators "remission" meant forgiveness.

When Jesus said we were to be "perfect" as God is perfect, He was saying we were to be "mature". I can be mature and still fall short.

I have colleagues in the writing industry who would say there is no such thing as writer's block. I personally think they are wrong. Lack of concentration can be overcome though. If it happens to me, I go back and read what I already wrote. I am a graduate student trying to meet deadlines. I do not have time for writer's block so I read or work on a different project until the flow comes back.

Check out my new website, just launched today.! https://www.poetchrisbreva.com.

My new book "Teatime" will be published soon. I asked my publisher to go ahead and launch my website beforehand because I want to do some blogging and build my brand through the site. If any of my readers are looking for a publisher, my publisher is accepting manuscripts! Yes. They are a self-publisher, which means you pay them to publish your book. However, they are a full service agency meaning they do editing, illustration, the whole job. They took some bad press because a woman sued them. She thought they were going to make her instantly rich. Publishing does not work that way. Getting published does not make one successful or famous. Once a book is published, the writer must work their tail off to market the book. My publisher will help with some marketing but the bulk is on me. I understood that and self-published after traditionally publishing four other books.

If you want to contact my agent, his name is Mario Gonzaga. His email is mariogonzaga@readersmagnet.com. His website is https:www.readersmagnet.com. Tell him Marvin Schrebe sent you.

Image #2249882 over display limit. -?- Prompt: "Prompt: "Hebrews 13:15 "By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."

Am I worshiping God or complaining to God? What attitude am I bringing my requests to God with?"

I try to never complain to God. There are times I want to. I admit that, but I try to never do so. You see, I consider complaining to be a lack of faith. God never leaves me to struggle alone. He is always there facing every storm with me and He is much bigger than any storm. He has never let me get killed. He has led me into some narrow escapes, but He has always seen me through. He has allowed me to suffer drug addiction, cancer, emphysema, broken bones (neck, skull, back, arm) and multiple surgeries for kidney stones, heart, gall bladder / appendix, and more. He has never let me die. I've suffered but I know the suffering made me who I am today. I trust God completely. Complaining means I do not trust God's judgment. It means I think I know better than God or question His decisions. If you want an example of what happens when we do not completely trust God I refer you to Genesis 3. Adam and Eve thought God was holding out on them. Look where that got us all! Trust God!

Am I paying attention to my physical, emotional, and mental health? In what way do you think your health in these areas affect your spiritual health?"

While I believe it is important to take care of our bodies, I do not believe that is the emphasis of this passage. I believe Paul was telling his readers not to act and behave like the world. An old saying says "Christians are often the only Bible some people ever read."

If Christians do not model Jesus in their lives, how will others ever see Him?

, a poem about Hurricane Florence, you know I was interested! Have you personally ever experienced a natural disaster? Tell us about it. If you have never experienced a natural disaster, what do you think it would be like?"

I have experienced a few disasters. I personally was a paper carrier during the winter storm back in the 90's. Temperatures reached 12 below zero with wind chills of nearly 70 below. I delivered 9 paper routes. I was allowed out because i was considered essential since most people had no communications or news sources. The paper was their news.

I also worked the 2015 flood in Rainelle WV. I have never seen such devastation as whole houses were washed away. The National Guard worked for months cleaning up debris. I was infected with black mold working there and am still treated to this day for it.

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.

Am I paying too much attention to what people think of me Instead of what God thinks? What do you think God thinks of you? Does it matter what other people think?"

I am very tempted to say that I could not care less what others think. However, in a sense it is important what others think. For many people, I am the only witness they will see. If they think I am a jerk or a dork, then they may associate that with Jesus and reject him. I must be all things to all people in order to win a few.

Excuse my ignorance! I popped off recently that I didn't know what Juneteenth was all about and didn't really care. I thought it was probably some hair brained holiday somebody cooked up. However, I did some investigating, and Juneteenth is a celebration of the last slaves being freed in a US State. I agree that is worth celebrating. I always hated the idea of slavery for no human being is better than another. No human should ever own another. I go on record holding that position. Now that I know what Juneteenth is, I'm in favor of it. I just wish it was called something else! I understand however that the slaves knew it was June and in the third week but weren't sure of the date. Thus "Juneteenth."

10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?
12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Do you have other Christian friends, a group of people you can go to when times are tough? If so, let's talk about them. If not, what actions can we take to build ourselves a support system made up of other Christians?"

I have a whole group of Christian friends I can go to. I remember announcing on social media that I was having by-pass surgery. People from all over the world kept track of me for weeks after that. They are still on my social media feed. My church is my group as well. I would call them my anchor, but God is my anchor. The church serves my God.

I agree. What we do can often hurt the innocent. My dad was in jail when I was a child for a crime it was later proven he did not commit. He spent four years in prison for it. He missed most of my childhood and as a result we never really bonded. I wish we could have.
