A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

"Tell us about that time you were excited about something, only to be bitterly disappointed when it was delayed or cancelled."

Manx Cat from Japan

After college I applied and trained to work for a company. After the training period there was a written test which I passed. I had figured out that if I worked for this company for three years I would be able to pay for my college loan. Even though I passed all the tests and completed the training with good reviews they did not hire me and would not say why.

I recently talked with a retired nurse who says she is still capable of doing her work if she chose to go back to her profession but believes that women over 60 are not hired for many jobs.

PBS ran a special program a couple years ago that explained that women over 55 are rarely hired even though they have more experience and social aptitude than other age groups.

Just read a hilarious book *Rolling* about a club formed for women called The Rejected Writers Book Club by Suzanne Kelman. After reading this book I think I would like to join a club for rejected people of the USA. *Laugh* There would be a lot of elder people in the club I bet. The book had so many adventures I finished it in 24 hours.

OK. This is the first of many official July Blogs for the 30-Day-Challenge. Have a great day. Keep on succeeding at daily living.
