A Journal to impart knowledge and facts |
July 22, 2015 I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done. I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them. I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC. |
Are you an introvert or an extrovert? How do you recharge your batteries? Quotes: Reference: http://wisdomquotes.com/introvert-quotes/ Extroverts sparkle, introverts glow. Extroverts are fireworks, introverts are a fire in the hearth. Sophia Dembling Be a loner. That gives you time to wonder, to search for the truth. Have holy curiosity. Make your life worth living. Albert Einstein I'm an introvert. I was an introvert before people made this word mean something. On the other hand I've always enjoyed family and church get togethers because it is an opportunity to listen to conversations and learn about the lives of more extroverted people. I' m reading True Places by Sonja Yoerg. It's a story about a little girl found in the woods, who has been living there for 16 years and does not understand society as it exists today. It's environmental but, I see a lot of introverted experiences as the characters reveal themselves. Over the years, I have used lots of different ways to recharge. As a young girl I had a part Shepard part collie dog that was given to me by my brother. I would take long walks with this dog across the neighboring fields and woods. I also think purring cats is a sound that soothes the soul. In earlier years, I also liked to take a horse back ride over fields, woods, and roads. Wandering on horse back can be soothing, adventuresome, and exercises the body as well as the mind. Exercise helps me sleep and a good sleep recharges batteries. Now, I do mindfulness, yoga, walk my dog, read a good story, write something, play with the cat or play music. These are things I do to relax and enjoy day time hours. In this frame of mind I found a new App on Goggle for my phone. It's called Eye Care Plus. It is easy to use. There are exercises for your eyes which rest them and if used a few minutes a day helps them stay healthy. Happy Trails! |
