A Journal to impart knowledge and facts
July 22, 2015

I'm going to start today to record on a daily basis whatever happens to strike my fancy. So, it is a very cool breezy day. I just posted 5 short book reviews to The Monthly Reading Challenge. I'm suppose to put away some winter wood today from the woodpile outside but I'm playing hookey from work to write so starting this blog will get done.

I'm having a daily fight with a flock of English Sparrows that are trying to take over my barn. They are making a terrible mess so they have to go. I have destroyed several nests so far they don't leave but they get out of the barn when I am around. I'm just starting the fight so I guess I don't know how far I have to go to discourage them.

I'm trying not to spread myself to thin on WDC because I find so many things that are interesting here and I am trying to work on a new story. I really enjoy sitting at my desk with a cup of tea and reading blogs on WDC.

I have a stressful day at work today ... What strategies do you use to manage stress in your life?

Occasional screaming helps! One time a long ago I caught myself screaming at the children. I opted to never scream at them again. After I achieved this new habit, I over heard one of my sons saying to the others, "I liked it better when she was screaming at us." *Laugh* Proof that you just can't satisfy everyone.

Music, I believe that music can stop most problems if you play the kind of music that soothes your soul.*Music2*

Mindfulness helps keep people organized and therefore less stress. It can help solve stressful situations if you stop and meditate for a few moments.

There is a free app called Calm advertised on TV. I put it on my kindle. It is fun and soothing. *Sleeping*

Sometimes I picture a meadow full of wild flowers. It's better than watching the news.*FlowerY*

One of my cats responds with a cuddle and loud purring on stressful days. She seems to know when things aren't going well.*Cat2*

*Dog1* A long dog walk on a sunny day is nice but we have only had a few sunny days in the last two months. My dog likes to play fetch in the living room so he keeps me laughing at his antics.

I think it takes fore sight and a combination of strategies to conquer stress. Just remember, "Stress can't kill anyone it's the fear of stress that damages health." Plus, give your body a break, eat and drink healthy sustenance. *TeapotB* }

Live, it's the best kind of revenge on all the pushy problems humans encounter on a daily basis.
