Since my old blog "Everyday Canvas " became overfilled, here's a new one. This new blog item will continue answering prompts, the same as the old one.

I should have mentioned the house I grew up in. It was three and a half stories and first floor more than half of it was a huge kitchen, which opened to the back yard. We all lived there. Sometimes we'd have family gatherings with extended family around a huge rectangular table that seated a lot of people. Somehow, that seems so far away! It was a different lifetime, almost. But now, I like my small corridor-kitchen just the same.

Sounds like a nice kitchen and memories can be made there. A vegan and a vegetarian. I don't eat much meat. I would rather eat turkey and tuna then cow. A good entry.

I have a kitchenette or whatever you can call it; had a small kitchen in Thailand too.

Growing up we had a small kitchen. We were kitchen-folk.

So true! Ai uses what there is on the web whether it is right or wrong. And as of last year, it only dug in to the articles that were put online until 2021 or so. I don't think they updated anything. I know this from my son, who works on and from his computer most of the time. The thing is, when asked a question and it answers it, it doesn't tell you from where it got the info. So you never know the source. How can anyone trust Ai is beyond me. Maybe it has some use in big business or in programming, which neither interest me in the first place.

I believe in doing things myself as well, I avoid Ai as much as possible. Nor do I trust anything that comes out of the Cheetos mouth.

I'm very concerned at how many experienced people are being forced out of their jobs and replaced with people who are clueless or with Ai.

Yes, the old=fashioned ways are more comfortable, at times; however, I can also appreciate technology. What I don't like is everyone's jumping in headfirst into its waters, without knowing that there may be monsters waiting in there with their mouths open, and not getting trained enough and not training their employees well enough.

Joy, you bring up a good point about AI. Yes, it's an emerging technology and it needs to be better policed, JMHO. I think there's something to be said about doing certain things the old fashioned way - yourself. This way, the internal reward is more satisfying.

Lol! I hadn't heard about the one that blamed DEI, Obama, or Biden.
Yes, most airplane accidents they think happen because of pilot error. Given the weather was so bad, it could be just that the pilot goofed with the air space. They should make pilots take extra courses every year, if that might help at all.

I was an Army helicopter pilot for over 20 years and have actually flown that corridor. I'm sure that the pilot erred. He wasn't in the airspace allotted to him. I'm also sure that it wasn't DEI, Obama, or Biden. That's just ignorance and stupidity talking.

Difficult but Meaningful

Do you agree with this quote? How about the combination of easy and meaningful?

Yes, I agree with the quote; however, I'd personally prefer easy and meaningful over something hard and meaningful, anytime. Having said that, I am not the one to shy away from difficulties and I have done some difficult things in my life; however, I'd much prefer if they'd have been easier on me.

As to the last three words in the quote, easy and meaningless is just that. Meaningless. I've experienced that also. The problem with meaningless is that it doesn't teach anyone anything.

The most positive side of difficult and meaningful life experiences is that they are usually our greatest teachers. That is if we can live through the painful, frustrating, and overwhelming times. Such experiences can shape character, resilience, and understanding.

Among what we learn from difficult times and experiences, in my opinion, resilience takes the front seat. This is because resilience means inner strength and it shows us what we are capable of. Then, mostly, people develop empathy through difficult experiences, especially for others who are going through the same or similar experiences.

For example, understanding the difficulties and heartbreak of parents who are trying to raise sick or autistic kids can sound far-out and unbelievable to parents to whom nature has given perfect children. On the other hand, parents of difficult kids can be much more understanding and empathetic toward other parents.

Also, when we come out of a hardship, we tend to appreciate the good things and even the simplest things in life much more. After all, life teaches us the power of letting go, be it grudges, fears, or expectations. Since we have gone through some trying times, we have learned to accept things beyond our control and we can now move forward with better wisdom.
