I am a small town girl from Alabama living in the big city. I love Atlanta and feel inspired by the diversity of culture and uniqueness of the people I meet here. I've been writing for fun since early childhood and writing semi-professionally since early adulthood. I've worked as a ghostwriter, freelance editor, and manga proofreader in the past. I've won a handful of contests and have had some work accepted in local publications but nothing of note. I hope to change that. |
I've mostly written poetry and short fiction over the past few years, but I'm looking to open myself up to other things. |
My style has been influenced by these genres: Classic Literature, Southern Gothic, Urban/Dark Fantasy, Psychological Horror |
I'm interested in Asian culture and language. My husband is Thai-American and I get a healthy exposure to Thai language, culture, and FOOD through him. I love playing online MMOs and puzzle games. I enjoy any activity that allows me to be creative. |
Classics, Southern Gothic, Urban Fantasy, Dark Fantasy, Psychological Horror, Poetry, Japanese Manga (Graphic Novels) |
Crime and Punishment (Dostoevsky), The Vampire Armand (Rice), As I Lay Dying (Faulkner), Wizard and Glass (King), The Casual Vacancy (Rowling) |
Anne Rice, William Faulkner, Stephen King, JK Rowling, William S Burroughs, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolf |
Sylvia Plath, William Blake, E.E. Cummings, Lord Byron, Edgar Allan Poe |
There is something pagan in me that I cannot shake off. In short, I deny nothing, but doubt everything. Lord Byron |
I enjoy a wide range of music...from 80s synth and goth rock, to folk/indie, to festival trap/edm...as long as it inspires me or makes me feel something inside, I can dig it. |
I'm a total anime nerd. I love Hayao Miyazaki films. I also love dark comedies (In Bruges, American Psycho, Fargo) and Cohen brothers films in general. |
Game of Thrones, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Wilfred, The Office, and numerous anime that I won't bother listing here. |
