Summary of this Book...
This is an absolutely magnificent book! It's about a young lady, Josie, married to a much older man (against her mother's wishes). She seems to have a love-hate relationship with her mother, as her mothers always seems to be putting her down. Josie meets a lady celebrating her birthday on the same day that she is out with her aged husband, celebrating hers. They both turned 25, but the two ladies, Josie and Alix, are so dissimilar. Lisa Jewell created characters and let us get to know them from the inside out (how their secrets and/or psyche shaped them). She wrote about the messiness of life and what it can drive people to do. Their lives become entwined and danger follows. If you like reading psychological thrillers with murder, manipulation, secrets and lies, then this book is for you.
This type of Book is good for...

I especially liked... | ||
I enjoyed having the story slowly unravel with each instalment to the podcast. Josie is totally crazy and Alix plays like she is taken in by her, just to get the story. But everything gets turned upside down.
I didn't like... | ||
I didn't like how Josie ignored her two daughters. One was in her room all the time, and I was actually wondering if she was actually dead and rotting in there. She was a woman who just didn't care. But that was her character; that's how the author created her to be. And that character fit her actions.
This Book made me feel...
I felt a bit on edge at times, seeing how crazy Josie was. She lied and manipulated so much, it was difficult to know what was really going with her.
I recommend this Book because...
It is a real thriller. It is suspenseful and full of twists. I did not see the end coming.
