Libby Day is now a young adult, but when she was seven years old, she lived through a horrible and traumatic crime. Her mother and two sisters were murdered. Libby ran out and hid in the tall grass by the pond. Her brother called for her but she remained hidden. She'd later testify that her seventeen-year-old brother killed her family. For certain tasks that Libby does for them, or for items she shares with them, they'll pay her. Now, they want her to do interviews and talk to the people who were around her family in those days. They want her to realize why they believe her brother is innocent. They'll pay her to talk to these people, and she agrees—for the money.

The trail leads her into danger, and she finds herself running from a murderer yet again.
