Summary of this Book...
In this sequel to Bridget Jones's Diary, Bridget has found her man. You'd think that her life would get better from here, but being in a relationship isn't all roses and sunshine. She's very different from the people Mark usually surrounds himself with. What's more, there's a beautiful woman who isn't shy about her interest in Mark. Insecurities set in... with disastrous consequences.

If that wasn't enough, her career isn't going well. Her parents' relationship is in trouble. And there's a builder in her apartment who doesn't seem to know what he's doing...
This type of Book is good for...
People who love romance and comedy.
I especially liked...
It was great to once more be in the company of Bridget. In this sequel she's as likeable (and as awkward) as she was in her first diary. Her life is rich and complex, which feels realistic. We're not only with her through her relationship troubles - we're there when she seeks the comfort of friends (who have their own complex lives), copes with the absurd choices of her mother, navigates the socially awkward situation with the builder and, gloriously, attempts to interview Colin Firth.

That interview is my absolute highlight of the novel. It had me laughing out loud. It's worth purchasing the book just for that. A true delight, especially for those who love Firth's role as Jane Austen's Darcy.
I didn't like...
I wasn't keen on the storyline with the boy, nor the Thai prison.
When I finished n/a this Book I wanted to...
Re-read that interview. Really, it is very funny!
This Book made me feel...
Like I'd spent my time well. I didn't enjoy everything as much as I did the first novel, but it was worth a read. It did make me smile and laugh, which is what I had been looking for when I picked it up.
I recommend this Book because...
It's funny. It's creative. The author has done an excellent job with the characters. Sometimes you'll want to hug Bridget. Other times you'll cringe in second-hand embarrassment. In the end, though, you wish her lots of happiness.
Further Comments...
As with the first novel in this series, I took to Bridget because she is believable, and many of her feelings are recognisable. She doesn't always make the choices that I would make. Some situations that she finds herself in are far removed from my own world. She is so likeable, though, flaws and all and that makes me feel better about myself and my own imperfections.
